Schedule & Smart Reminders

Lock in a crawl ahead of time - pick a date and the iPhone app sends a morning 'crawl today' heads-up and a 'tee time soon' nudge ~30 minutes out. Opt in to the rest: rate-your-round and share-your-scorecard after the night winds down, a 'your crew is here' ping when friends join, plus tournament bracket alerts. On the last hole, a 'call a ride home' safety reminder loops in your DD or nudges everyone to grab a cab. Mute any category; nothing fires unless you switch it on.

The 9×9 Challenge

A baseball-style twist on the crawl - nine innings, nine sips of headroom. Bank runs, draw a walk, strike out. Timed rounds add a per-inning stopwatch so an exact tie breaks on the fastest hand.

Crew Chat & Live Status

Trade cheers and toast the round in the in-lobby crew chat with one-tap reactions, while the scorecard shows every player's bar-by-bar status live - who's where, who's up, who's leading.

Designated Driver Mode

Anyone can flag themselves the DD before tee-off - their score locks at zero, they get a painted halo and DD chip, and the night celebrates the Designated Driver as a hero stat. Drink responsibly. 21+.

Do I need to download the app to play?

Not if a friend shared a code - tap Join Crawl above and play right in your browser. The full iOS app gives you native haptics, on-device reminders, the AI Planner, and the ability to build & share your own crawls.

Is it really like golf?

Every bar is a hole. Every sip is a stroke. Each bar has a par (how many sips it should take). Score under par for bragging rights, over par for penalty rounds. Lowest total wins.

How many people can play?

A single crawl runs from solo up to ~12 players - the host shares a 6-letter code and friends join from any phone, with spectators watching free. Want a bigger night? Tournaments bracket up to 16 separate crews into a single-elimination bracket and crown one champion.

Will I get notifications?

On the iPhone app you can opt in to gentle on-device reminders - a rate-your-round / share-your-scorecard nudge after the night winds down, a 'your crew is here' ping when friends join your lobby, and tournament bracket alerts. They're off by default, you can mute any category, and they never fire while you're already in the app. In the browser you can opt in to live alerts (bar moves, score updates) while a round is open - but reminders that fire after you close the tab are app-only.

Can I plan a crawl for a future night?

Yes. Pick a date and time when you build the crawl and it's saved as upcoming, ready to share. On the iPhone app you can opt in to a morning 'crawl today' heads-up and a 'tee time soon' nudge about 30 minutes before it kicks off, so the crew shows up on time.

Are the bars real?

Yes - the curated Crawl Library is 100+ hand-built crawls across 40+ cities, sourced from OpenStreetMap with real bar names and real street addresses, each laid out on a live walkable map. The AI Planner builds routes from live map data, and the public Crawl Library grows from routes other players share in your city. If your city isn't curated yet, the AI Planner has you covered.

What if someone loses track of a hole?

The host can edit any player's score from the SCORECARD tab. Use mulligans (1-3 per round, host-set) to wipe a hole entirely. Real-time sync keeps the whole crew on the same page.

Is it safe and responsible?

Bar Crawl Golf is a tracker, not an encourager - the lowest score wins, so the math rewards restraint. Hard age gate at first launch - 21+ in the US, 18+ in most of Canada/UK/Europe. Per-hole caps are enforced. Hydration reminders fire mid-round, a Get-A-Ride button surfaces at round-end, and the Designated Driver achievement is celebrated as the hero stat. Drink water.
